Building Infrastructure for Cambodia

Selendra is a blockchain network built to support the growing digital economy in Cambodia and Southeast Asia.

We are not reinventing the blockchain. Instead, we are applying proven open-source technology to solve local challenges. By leveraging the Substrate framework, we have deployed a network that is secure, scalable, and suited for real-world applications.

Our Focus

We believe that technology should serve people. Our mission is to provide a reliable infrastructure layer that allows developers to build useful applications.

Why Cambodia?

Cambodia has a young, digitally native population but lacks some of the open digital infrastructure found in other regions. We see an opportunity to fill this gap by providing a neutral, decentralized platform for:

  • Digital Payments: Enabling low-cost transactions for local merchants.
  • Asset Tokenization: Allowing local businesses to issue digital assets.
  • Developer Education: Providing a platform for students to learn about distributed systems.

Built on Open Source

Selendra is built on Substrate, the blockchain framework developed by Parity Technologies. This is the same technology that powers the Polkadot ecosystem.

By building on Substrate, we benefit from:

  • Shared Security Model: We use standard consensus mechanisms (Aura/AlephBFT) that have been rigorously tested.
  • Modular Architecture: We can easily integrate new features (like EVM support) as modules.
  • Developer Tooling: We inherit the rich ecosystem of tools built for the Polkadot ecosystem.

We are grateful to the open-source community for building these tools. Our contribution is in the application and operation of this technology in a specific regional context.
